WOW! I borrowed this book through my Free Prime reading account. Read the reviews and thought, okay, one rating of 2 and no 1’s. A couple of the reviews said ‘it was intriguing.’ Another reviewer said it was ‘different.’ Well! Let me tell you. All the IR romance books about the mafia that I have read couldn't hold a candle to this Alpha male! OMG! Talk about off the hook!This book was more than intriguing. I can’t even describe it, but it is a REAL winner. Worth every penny (and yes, I bought it to read again)! This guy was smooth, but intense; loyal yet possessive. He was passionate, sensitive, and insightful (a lover of Haiku poetry); but yet when he put on his “Dragon’ persona, Oh My Goodness! – a very dangerous man. Talk about a dichotomy in terms of personality…..I loved it! No matter what he tried to put in place, you have to read this story to see how the ‘hunter gets captured by the game.’ He had no problem telling the heroine, ‘you need to catch up’ with this relationship. She said she needed, 'space.' He said, 'no, you belong to me.' Some reviewers said the heroine had conflicting emotions. He was a dangerous man, and the ‘Tiger’ in her fought back. (I think she did a pretty good job.) My intriguing moment, he knew he was caught (the hunter) but she (the game) due to her immaturity didn't know it. And the build-up in the ending of how he solved his biggest problem, Whew!...will have your mouth hanging open. I enjoyed reading this book so much. For me, a 5 star rating is not enough!
Nyomi needs to revive her career. She needs a good follow up book to prove herself a true author. She decides to go where no author has gone before and write a novel based on Toyko's underground sex industry.She gets more than she bargained for. Falling unwillingly down Kenji's rabbit hole. Nyomi and Kenji strike up a deal beneficial to both parties. She knowingly takes a walk on the wild side in more ways than one with the head of The Japanese Mafia. Except they didn't factor in love.No Ordinary Love takes us to a place where the Private. Act out kinky fetishes. Where they service a secretive clientele with deep pockets. On the menu. Anything goes. It's all for sale.Thank you, Kenya for continuing to push the envelope. Great book.
This was an excellent excellent read. I bought this book yesterday evening and by the early AM I was finished reading the book, I literally could not put the book down for a second. The main characters in this book was strong and matched each other well. I love how the two were instantly drawn to each other. They had a magnetic pull that just light up each page the chemistry between these two was fire. Kenji is an alpha dominant dangerous man that is sexy as hell and Nyomi is a strong woman that was made to deal with this powerful dangerous alpha male. The author also did an excellent job of creating a great story line that was conveyed thoroughly throughout the book. I enjoyed this book immensely and would strongly encourage any reader who wants to read about a powerful dark male character and a strong independent woman this is your story.
No Ordinary Love I really loved this book. More people should love this book and buy it. The writing, the overall story, and the setting. Of course, the characters held me captive. I couldn't get enough of their passion and the way they drove one another insane. The darkness of the yakuza world felt so real, looming over them the entire time. Nyomi's past is not completely resolved to my satisfaction, but Kenji's is! OMG! It was quite the finale. I adored Kenji. He was brutally Alpha with no apologies. And Nyomi should not have been playing on his ground if she wasn't ready to wear her big girl panties. Not that he would have let her keep them. Ha, ha! For those who enjoy the rare AMBW themed romance--and those who never have read one before--you will not be disappointed.
Compelling fantastic. I absolutely love Kenya Wrights books and this was no exception. We meet Nymoi an aspiring writer, hard headed to the core, reckless, free spirited. She comes to Tokyo to do a story about the pleasure houses in the red light district wanting to write about the dark sexual acts within the Japanese society. Into her life walks Kenji, dark tempting and dangerous, everything that Nyomi's friends begs her to stay away from but cant hl to be drawn closer and closer to his web. Kenji and Nyomi share similar pains together having to deal with past traumatic experiences with danger. I love that Kenya Wright gives good detail in her books, descriptively describe the seedy like of the red light district and even where one statement in which Nyomi is describing Kenji's "junk" I had to laugh at that one, Its rare that you see interacial erotic books dealing with the darker side of sexy and life. I am very impressed that Kenya Wright with the language, the sexual tension and confliction between characters and hope she brings out more books that delve deeper into dark erotica and sensuality one day. This book is amazing .
This is an erotic interracial romance with explosive chemistry between kindred spirits showcasing Tokyo. A Brooklyn author goes to Japan to research their sex industry for her next book. However, she captures the attention of the leader of the Japanese mafia. With opposing agendas allowances are made and their world explored. The push and pull makes for a stimulating read. I recommend it.
While I've read books by this author and loved them, this one is somewhat different. It gives a detailed account of the sex industry and the criminal underground of Tokyo. At the heart is the attraction of Nyomi, a free spirit and author; and Kenji aka "Dragon", heir to a criminal syndicate.I would describe this book as dark, erotic and informative about the Japanese culture. However, I found at times that too much of the story was focused on the culture, which made the book longer than it needed to be.Overall,, I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters, as well as the dialogue which was hilarious at times.
