This book is a great way for your little one to learn more about Sweden and Swedish words. For me it's nostalgic in every way and I can practically smell those cinnamon buns in the picture! I would recommend this book to Swedish families with young children who live outside of Sweden. I believe it could help them remember and connect with their home country especially if Swedish is not their first language. It could also be great for anyone about to travel to Sweden! My only wish would be that that there was more of a story/narrative or overarching theme within the book that helps it to feel less like a Swedish-English dictionary. What I love most is the beautiful photography and the feeling of nostalgia it triggers. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the author, and this review is my own opinion.
I’m enjoying this book so much. I’m swedish living in the U.S and find it so important to keep the Swedish language and culture alive and to pass it on to my little 2.5 year old. boy. Perfect also for my American hubby to read with our son as all pictures are discribed in both English and Swedish. Besides, the book is beautifully made! Beautiful pictures throughout. Great book to teach the Swedish culture and language from an early age. My 2 year old son loved looking at the beautiful pictures and trying to say the words in Swedish.
