As an executive search recruiter, the author has seen thousands of data points of people making the transition to the second half of their careers. He has seen what leads to success, and what does not. The reader can greatly benefit from his accumulated wisdom, which in a sense is a "big data analytics" approach to finding success and personal happiness in one's career beyond the age of 50.The author understands how the system of large companies works. Graduates from top universities are lured into those companies in their youth, and are able to flourish for decades. As time goes on and the funnel narrows, middle-aged workers are often left in unfulfilling roles - or in the worst case (and not uncommonly) being dismissed on account of their age (which is a proxy for how much money they make relative to their younger peers). The author also understands that as a worker proceeds further into their career, if left unchecked career options can and will narrow - leading to frustration, dis-satisfaaction, underachievement, and lower economics - whereas in reality, and with planning, a career can and should flourish in the latter half.The reader will benefit from Reynold's accumulated wisdom, which includes a methodology for to develop a plan to make the most of the rest of your career. Exceeded expectations! This is an easy to read but high-impact book that really speaks to the challenges faced by many professionals with 20+ years of experience. The author's description of executive search is brilliantly funny.....and accurate. The book is direct and is willing to take-on topics that are often brushed under the carpet or considered to be "too sensitive". Well done. An inspiring and prescriptive read for anyone at this mid/advanced stage in their career, whether they have been "fired for age" or not.

If there was a zero star rating, this "book" would have gotten it. Maybe 25% useful information. 75% crap that the author believes will help you in your 50's, like taking up triathlons. Yeah, right. Mr. Lewke should stick to some of his other skills. I sincerely hope his other degrees will help in his future endeavors, as his future as a writer are limited. I hope Amazon has a refund policy....
